I had the pleasure, back several weeks ago, of dining with a small group of women at a restaurant in Midtown called Empire State South. It's where the style of the North is infused with the soul of the South. The food is fantastic. The ambiance is simple chic. If I had to gripe about anything thing it would be the gorgeous hardwood floor that I had a hard time walking on while wearing my 5.5 inch stilettos; and the awkward location of the restaurant. I think I drove by the restaurant several times before I found it. But the food made up for my traveling frustrations.
I loved my dish. I ordered the Winter Salad and the Strube Ranch Colette. The Winter Salad had fried greens, which adds a unique flavor and crunchy consistency that won't soon be forgotten. The Colette (beef dish) was cooked to perfection. I paired it with gnocchi and left the table feeling satisfied and happy at the choice of restaurant. To complete our experience we had fatty cakes for dessert. If you love a good whoopie pie you will fall in love all over again with the fatty cakes. Too bad I didn't write this post earlier. I am really not doing the dish or the restaurant justice. All in all, I loved my experience and I will be back.

Pioneering
I really don't have time for this. How ironic is that first sentence for a new blog? I love the concept of a blog; sharing, oversharing, becoming a self-proclaimed expert at something you just decided to blog about, or just diarying your life out because you are getting older and won't remember all of this stuff anyway...but you wish you could...at least the good stuff. I wish memories worked in a way that only allowed you to remember the good things and not the bad things. But that's not how it goes, that's not how life is; what's the highs without the lows???
I don't really have a focus for this blog. I think my opening paragraph is a rather palpable example of this. When I first decided to write a blog I thought about writing one to discuss the many restaurants that my friends/coworkers and I frequent each month for our "Girls Night Out" events. We have had a ball so far, but it's only been two restaurants. Living in Atlanta there will never be a shortage of places to go, but if I only blog about us going to restaurants I will only blog 12 times a year. So I needed more. My friend, fellow mommy, attorney, genius, goregous girl inside and out, and funny woman, Erica watches Showtime, HBO, AMC, Bravo etc just as much as I do. I thought I could write about the television I LOVE, but I only think she and I would read it and I prefer the email dialogue we have for [longer than we should while at work] on the programs we watched the night before. Then I thought about writing about my son. My most precious, amazing, awesome, intelligent, HANDSOME, Logan. I would never tire of writing or talking about him, but I really don't like hearing a whole lot about other people's kids. I have to force myself to be interested if I don't know your child or you like that, so I'm sure strangers could give a care about my wonderful, wonderful, soon-to-be-2 year old son. So next topic... I don't know... I guess I am still searching. Don't be surprised if you find a lot of everything in this blog. I promise not to bore you. And I will tell the truth, but only in the nicest way possible. This blog is not to offend. It's just to share my thoughts.
